    Students should be able to present a nuanced argument based on evidence from the text.

    Structure:

    It is often said that "the truth will set you free." In this activity, students will evaluate this statement with regard to the characters' experiences in the novel. First, ask students whether they have heard this statement before and what they think it means. Then ask them how it might apply to the characters and situations in The Kite Runner.
