Chapter 22
The narrator begins working on a play in Paris. He spends a lot of time with Dirk and Blanche. One day, Dirk and the narrator go to the art dealer that had had a couple of Strickland's paintings. The dealer says Strickland took them back without explanation. He also expresses distaste for Strickland's paintings, saying the man has no merit because he has no success. This enrages Dirk.
