The Motorcycle Diaries is the published diary of Ernersto "Che" Guevara. Written at the time of his journey in 1952, it wasn't published until many years after his death in 1993 (Guevara died in October of 1967). It is often described as a coming of age story, full of adventure, and showing how the young Guevara's ideologies formed, as it ends with his vow that, despite his middle class upbringing, he was on the side of the people, and was willing to fight and die for their cause. However, it is not always considered strictly a diary, as both Guevara and his family have edited it and shaped the narrative after-the-fact.
