Giovanni
This strange protagonist is praised as a hero for surviving a horrible accident in a mine shaft. He survived the blast, whereas many others died, and after coming out of his coma, Eleanor is literally ready to worship Giovanni. His near death experience was weird, but being the accidental religious icon of a newly formed cult—that was something he really didn't expect.
Eleanor
This spiritualist believes she is in communion with a spirit from the higher dimensions, named Domiron. Domiron is also a voice in her head who tells her to do weird stuff. She often has dark, apocalyptic forecasts for the end of the world, and she is sometimes uncannily correct, leading to a strange dynamic where no one knows if she's crazy, or if life is seriously weirder than expected.
The Brunists
The cult formed around Giovanni Bruno, who worshipped him for surviving death. The cult disbands when Giovanni is revealed to be of human nature—his own sister dies, a sign that Giovanni's survival was not related to some intrinsic divinity. The horror of death stops their religion in its track, but not before the Brunists gain public attention through the news.
