Objective:

By mapping out the journeys taken by the narrator and his brother, students will gain a better appreciation of the text.

Common Core Standards:

CCSS.ELA-LITERACY.RL.11-12.1; CCSS.ELA-LITERACY.W.11-12.3.A

Structure:

For students not familiar with England’s geography, it can be helpful to have a map showing the book’s many locations. In this long-term activity, students will create a map for each section of the reading.

Students will need:

-A large piece of poster-board

-3 markers: a black one for creating the basic map, and two other colors, one for the narrator’s journey and one for the brother’s journey
