The Winner Stands Alone Imagery

Hotel Martinez at fourth night of the Cannes Film Festival

An image of desperation and anxiety disguised as enjoyment and fun is described at the Hotel Martinez on the fourth night of Cannes Film Festival. Even though it’s almost four in the morning, no one wants to leave the hotel fearing that they might miss the chance of meeting someone important as important people are attending parties all over the Cannes and may come to that particular bar or restaurant any minute giving them some sort of chance with the people who can work wonders for their career or life.

Blood Diamonds

Blood diamonds are the diamond that have been illegally sourced from countries in conflict, where this money is then used to fund the war. The word ‘blood’ do not signify any color but rather the fact that these diamonds were bought with money that will be used to shed blood of millions of innocents. A contrast of the two worlds, one where the diamonds are extracted and the world where the diamonds are cut and polished is created.

Steel Barriers

At the film festival while the rich and famous go to the red carpet, a number of people look at them from only at a distance of two meters, with only a steel barrier in between. They believe that they were in the same place as their favorite star. However, they don’t realize that even though the distance is short in space but when compared with respect to chance, opportunity and talent there is more than the two meters that separates the commons from the celebrities.

Red Carpet and Photographers

Photographers don’t just cover the event; they are the means a person can be made famous when it comes to the glamour world. The sea of blazing flashlights is what appeases the people when they walk on the red carpet. They get nervous when someone more popular is walking before or after them, as they might steal their limelight.
