Mr. Ramsay says “you will find us much changed.” Is this true?
Even though it has been ten years, it does not seem much like the Ramsays have changed. Mrs. Ramsay, Prue, and Andrew have all died, but Mr. Ramsay and James are much the same as they were in the first section. James still hates his father, because Mr. Ramsay is still tyrannical and domineering. Mr. Ramsay still demands sympathy from women.
