    The Absurd History of English Slang

    Individual Writing

    Objective:

    Students will research and write about English slang.

    Structure:

    Alan Garner uses a great deal of British slang, both older and newer, throughout Treacle Walker, lending a peculiar air to the language he uses. To unfamiliar readers, it may be unclear if he's using made-up words or simply calling in old British slang.
