Today's reading includes several short poems that editors often collect together as the "Lucy" poems, as well as two other poems about grief and the process of grieving. It joins together the themes of childhood and grieving that we've seen in Wordsworth's poetry: since children more often died young in the 19th century, these themes were often treated together.
