William Wordsworth is usually credited as one of the founders of the English Romantic movement in poetry. His first book, Lyrical Ballads, ushered in this movement in 1798. It was jointly published with Samuel Taylor Coleridge, a friend and colleague of Wordsworth's and also a Romantic poet. The book includes Wordsworth's "Lines Composed a Few Miles above Tintern Abbey" and Coleridge's "Rime of the Ancient Mariner," arguably each man's most famous work.
