2. Read the first 8 sections of Whitman's "Song of Myself" (lines 1-158). Focus on how Whitman treats nature, other people, children and his own childhood, and his perceptions, a compared to Wordsworth.
3. Read your assigned section of Wordsworth's Prelude. (Teachers should assign about half of one book of the long poem to each group.
