Post Stress Trauma Disorder- Facing It
Arguably, the persona in “Facing It” is Veteran that took part in the Vietnam War. The Veteran is traumatized by the war to date thus his thoughts at night revolve around the Veterans Memorial. He looks for his name on the list of the veterans that took part in the war. The Veterans is traumatized as result of being exposed to the war, and it is hard to for him to resist crying after reflecting on the war.
Dehumanization-Prisoners
The prisoners are dehumanized in the poem “Prisoners”. They walk on hot asphalt, they are interrogated, and they are not given food. The dehumanization makes the persona conclude that the weight borne by the prisoners is so high. The prisoners ought to be rescued.
