Structure:

Break the students into small groups to review the New York Times article "Jamaica Kincaid's Antigua," by Monica Drake. (This was the previous night's HW assignment.) Have them discuss and present their answers to the class.

Discussion questions:

1) What is Drake's thesis? Is it the same as Kincaid's? If not, how is it different?

2) Why did Drake want to go to Antigua with her family? Didn't A Small Place...
