Structure:
Why doe Kincaid switch from second person -- "you" -- to first person -- "I" and back again? When and how does she make the choice to switch, and switch back.
For this exercise divide the class into pairs. Each pair should go through the text and identify three (give or take) examples of both POVs. Ask them to discuss why this is an effective choice on kincaid's part.
