    Group Work

    Objective:

    Students will identify the novel's main characters and find excerpts from the text that exemplify their individual voices.

    Common Core Standards:

    CCSS.ELA-LITERACY.RL.11-12.4

    Structure:

    Divide students into small groups. Have them identify each member of the Bundren family given a voice (Addie does not speak, so she is exempt) and write down their names and relationships to each other. Next, students will go through the text and find a short passage that they feel exemplifies each character.
