As I Lay Dying and The Sound and the Fury, which is arguably Faulkner's most famous work, pair nicely together, as both novels involve Faulkner's stream-of-consciousness style in multiple viewpoints. The Sound and the Fury takes place in Jefferson, which is where the Bundren family is headed, and both explore the travails of a single family, though The Sound and the Fury takes place across 30 years, while As I Lay Dying covers a period of days.
