Born in Flames Irony

Born in Flames Irony

Coming On

A man on the subway pushes himself onto a woman who obviously doesn't want to speak with him. Two women stop him and ironically he believes he's being wrongly accused. It shows the reality that men believe they can take what they want from a woman without permission.

No Money

A construction worker who is still employed tells a group of women demanding jobs he can't strike with them because he needs the money. Ironically, the women have been fired and need money for themselves and their family as well.

Funding

Money is being given to help integrate male rapists back into society. Ironically, women with emotional issues have no place to turn to find help as there is no financial support for programs that could support them.

Rhetoric

The Women's Army wants to grow and make a difference to get women hired, and they want Isabel, the DJ to be a part of their movement. Ironically, Isabel doesn't believe they can make a difference, that the Women's Army is simply rhetoric not change.

Arrested

Adelaide goes away for two weeks in order to be trained by women in militia to equip the Women's Army in New York to fight. Ironically, she is arrested as soon as she comes off her plane back to New York.
