Structure:

Divide students into three groups. Assign each group one place that Jackie and her family have lived: Columbus, Ohio; Greenville, South Carolina; Brooklyn, New York.

Ask students to conduct research to answer the following questions:

• What were these cities/regions known for in the 1960s and 1970s?
