Capable of dying; human; a species not capable of everlasting and unending existence.

mundane

Ordinary and humdrum; lacking any intrinsic excitement.

capricious

Impulsive and unpredictable; whimsical or fickle.

meticulous

Attentive to detail to the point of becoming obsessive.

Inquisitor

A harsh, exacting and intrusive chief interrogator usually also endowed with some authority toward judgment and punishment.

manor

A large, luxuriant home typically located in the country a far distance from neighbors.

antidote

Literally, an actual curative substance used to counteract the effects of intentional or accidental ingestion of a poison, but an also be applied as a metaphorical cure to a metaphorical poison as in “knowledge is the antidote to stupidity.”

Behemoth

An enormous, slithering, drooling demon with sharp claws and large teeth.

Consul

The official at the Institute that people are urged to consult when they have a question that no one else can answer; in a larger sense a consul is a diplomatic official.

detritus

Wasteful debris or rubbish.

emissary

A diplomatic representative sent to represent one group’s interest.

volition

One’s will or independent decision-making capacity.

tinge

Just a hint of something; a small amount; a thin patina one quality layered over thicker amounts of others.

serrated

Punctuated with sharp points like certain types of knives.

sovereignty

Independent authority over oneself and others that fall under your domain.

summon

To bid forward or call forth; to require an appearance in court.

incredulous

Skeptical about the potential for something being real, true or actually capable of happening.

morose

Melancholy and withdrawn.

alliance

A group working together toward a common goal or purpose; often within the context of being in opposition to authority.

mockery

Scornful ridicule.

mauseoleum

A chamber where multiple corpses are entombed rather than being buried outside in a cemetery or an individual crypt.
