Simon’s position

In his company, Simon always was an outsider,; nobody told him secrets of fellowship and involved him in any plans. But one day, the Inquisitor made such a situation in which Simon became responsible for the fate and the future of people from this company. So, in this way author ironizes about relationship of characters and shows that everything can rapidly change monumentally.

A girl

Sitting in the dungeon, Simon met a man to whom he told his story. He told that he didn’t like his fellowship so much to save them, but among them there was a girl which he liked. The man replied, that no conflict and tragedy couldn’t happen without participation of a woman. So, the author showed in ironic way the role of girl or a woman in conflict between men.

Sebastian

At the beginning of the story, Sebastian seems to be very kind and positive personage, he helps Clary and shows his good manners. As the result, reader starts to like him and treat him like a nice character. However, by the destiny’s irony, with the development of the story he reveals his dark side and his truthful nature by doing unexpectedly bad things. So, the author uses such an irony to show that every person has his own hidden features and pure kindness is a very rear occurrence in modern world.
