City of Glass Imagery

City of Glass Imagery

Magic world

There are a lot of features of magic and fantasy in the story and author skillfully expresses them through narrative. In the world, which characters of the story live in, are demons and angels, vampires and other creatures with unordinary opportunities. Although this book is the third in the series of books dedicated to this particular story, for some readers it can be the first, so the author continues to tell about such unusual heroes and their world to help the readers to understand the book better.

Surroundings description

The author very colorfully depicts various streets, cities, buildings in the story. “The house seemed to be built partway up a hill--below it honey-coloured stone houses, clustered along narrow streets, fell away to the edge of green circle…” Reading such descriptions readers can feel themselves like walking on those streets and imagine the whole picture of story’s world.

Feelings description

Through the whole story, we see deep and exact description of various emotions and feelings characters have. The author expresses every detail of face during particular emotion, every tint of feelings that were hidden far in a soul. “Clary felt as if he’d slapped her”. So, such descriptions help readers to feel every emotion together with characters as if they live in the world of the book and the story is their own life.
