Write Another Chapter
Kind of Activity:
Individual Writing
Objective:
Students will imagine another generation in Maame's family tree and write about what their life may be like.

CCSS.ELA-Literacy.W.9-10.3, CCSS.ELA-Literacy.L.9-10.3
Structure:
Each chapter of Homegoing follows a different descendant of Maame. While the novel ends after 14 chapters and seven generations, in this activity students will be asked to consider what may occur in the next generation.
Give students time to write about a descendant of Marjorie or Marcus. Their writing need not be as long as the chapters of the book, but they should tell a coherent story of a character....
