    Write Your Own Autobiography

    Objective:

    Students will consider what events they think are worth remembering in a life by writing their own autobiographies.

    Common Core Standards:

    CCSS.ELA-LITERACY.RL.11-12.2; CCSS.ELA-Literacy.W.11-12.3

    Structure:

    1. Jane Eyre is presented as an autobiography of its main character. In pairs, students should brainstorm a list of events in her life that might be included in the novel—not just events that you have read about thus far, but events that you could imagine occurring in Jane's future.
