Relationship to Other Books

Jane Eyre: The Graphic Novel, an adaptation of Charlotte Brontë's text with script adaptation by Amy Corzin, artwork by John M. Burns, lettering by Terry Wiley, design and layout by Jo Wheeler, puts the story of Jane Eyre into a graphic novel format.

Wide Sargasso Sea by Jean Rhys is a prequel to Jane Eyre that tells an untold story of Mr. Rochester's first wife.

Charlotte Brontë worked closely with her sisters; Anne Brontë's Agnes Grey was published with Jane Eyre, and Emily Brontë's Wuthering Heights published shortly before. Anne's The Tenant of Wildfell Hall came out soon after, followed by Charlotte's Villette.
