What saves the foresters and the travelers from the Huron at night?
Hawkeye and the Mohicans lead the travelers to a dilapidated building that they use for shelter as they rest. We learn that many dead warriors, many Mohicans, are buried beneath their feet. This causes some to shudder, but doesn't prevent them from resting there. As the Huron approach their hiding spot, they decline to enter or come near the structure, out of respect for the dead.
