Individual Writing

Objective:

Students will prepare an objective summary of the novel's first major section.

CCSS.ELA-Literacy.RL.10-11.1, CCSS.ELA-Literacy.W.10-11.2

Structure:

For this activity, each student will fill out a separate GIST Template (linked below) for each of the eight Books that comprise Part 1 - Fantine. This worksheet will provide them with a simple summary of the basic facts of each section of the text, as well as a succinct plot synopsis. As students fill out more of these with each act, they will create a reference that can be returned to if the plot becomes difficult to follow again....
