Podcasting - Day 1

Collaborative Writing

Objective:

Students will learn to write in a new form--newscasting/podcasting--to summarize the events of I[Macbeth]

Common Core Standards:

CCSS.ELA-Literacy.W.9-10.2

Structure:

Students will review the primary events of Macbeth. In discussion, they should come to understand that they have seen the play primarily from Macbeth's perspective. What might these events have looked like to commoners in Scotland? How would they perceive Macbeth's rise and fall?

Then introduce the concept of newscasting and podcasting. Students should work in groups of two or three to write and record a newscast that summarizes the key public...
