“Because I swear, if you get suspended again for something like this, it’s gonna be you I’m fanning out the window.”
Miles has been out of school for some time because he was suspended for sneaking out. Miles intentionally decided to sneak out of school after his teacher denied him permission to go out. Miles has been at home with his mother for a while, and this is the last day of his punishment. Miles is happy that he will resume going to school, but his mother reminds him that it is important not to repeat the same misbehavior as the last time. Consequently, Miles regrets his mistakes and promises to abide by school rules because if he makes the same mistake, his mother will personally deal with him.
“Yeah, you used to say that every night, and guess what? You wet the bed than any other I’ve seen.”
Miles has a way of proving that he was justified to sneak out of school. Miles blames his teacher during a conversation with his mother for his actions. For instance, Miles says he always does not have time to go to the bathroom before class, but his mother intervenes by reminding him that he even used that excuse when he was young. At last, Miles admits that he intended to sneak though he did not reveal that the superhero forces within himself force him to make decisions that go against the law.
“So this was about you saving somebody, huh? Yeah, well, let me ask you something, Super Hero. Who is gonna save you?
Miles finds himself in a fix because his father demands to know why he snuck out of school. The father does not want a similar incident to happen again and threatens to expel him from home if he repeats the mistake. Miles is forced to reveal to his parents that a superhero within him compels him to make decisions he deems correct. For instance, he narrates that he sneaked out of school to help his friend who was in need. Therefore, he had no option but to sneak in and help his friend in his time of need.
