Omkara Imagery

Contrast between villages and cities

Omkara hails from a village, while Dolly is from a city. She is educated and civilized, while Omkara is a goon and works for a political don. The sharp contrast in the two places comes with the change of scenery where hills make a prominent feature in the village while the city is more populous and busy.

Power of Bhaisaab

Tiwari Bhaisaab is a corrupt politician who exercises his power through his goons. He controls his empire from jail where he has all facilities, including his personal mobile phone and a luxurious room. He forces a train to go backwards when Omkara and Langda express their wish to go back, without a care to other passengers and the Government train schedule.

Corruption within Police

Corruption within police is depicted in scenes where the police allows Langda to carry contraband and other forbidden items, as drugs to meet Tiwari Bhaisaab who is in jail. The police also works as a bodyguard for Rajjo when he goes to meet Omkara, and is even made to undergo body search. While Billo entertains Kichlu, prominent police officials can be seen dancing to the tunes of Billo’s song.

Death on the consummation bed

The last scene gives a powerful image where Dolly lies in her red wedding sari, dead on a the swing, while a white clad Omkara tries to wake her up using the same song that he sang to her earlier to wake her up. The contrast between the colors of wedding and death elevates the theme of suspicion and mistrust in a marriage.
