    Kind of Activity:

    Individual Writing

    Objective:

    Students will be able to find evidence for allusions make connections between Shakespeare and the text.

    Common Core Standards:

    CCSS.ELA-Literacy.RL.9-10.3, CCSS.ELA-Literacy.RL.9-10.9

    Structure:

    Use the sketch "Stratford-on-Avon" to make connections to Shakespeare's life and work. Ask students to use the sketch as a way to learn about Shakespeare.

    Students should annotate the text of "Stratford-on-Avon" in search of allusions and references to Shakespeare's life and work. They could work in pairs for this part of the exercise. With these annotations as a basis, they should then use the internet to learn more...
