Bringing in Technology

Throughout the study of Irving's stories, students with disabilities should have the option of using dictation software for writing assignments, and text-to-speech software for reading assignments.

On Day 2, students will use Google Open Gallery to search through artwork that is relevant to the imagery of the story.

On Day 3, the "English Gardens" activity uses image searches, as well as PowerPoint or Prezi. The "Common Threads" activity makes use of a smart board.

Day 4's "Text to Text Connections" will use a class blog or a document-sharing site like Google Docs. (Consider using Google Docs in other activities as well, as a way to have students write collaboratively.)
