Students will examine the different themes and symbolism found the novel and will create a visual representation

Structure:

In this activity, the students will discuss themes and symbolism, examine the specific themes and symbols used in the novel, and create storyboards to visually represent these ideas.

Lead the class in a brief discussion of what themes and symbols are. Have the class come up with a definition for each, providing a few examples from popular media or other novels read in class.
