In this randomized block design, the engineer can get the level at which the octane in gasoline affects gas range. The engineer should allocate 10 compact cars, 10 full size cars, and 10 SUVs to the first group, and the rest to the second group. The first group will take the regular level of octane and the other one has the premium gasoline with more octane. Then, he should fill the cars up with a certain quantity of gas, say 10 gallons, and then drive a decided course until they finish the gas. He could split the cars into more groups with changed levels of octane for every group.
