What are two things The Tramp eats in this film that are not food?
First, we see The Tramp/The Lone Prospector eat a candlestick in the shack because he is so hungry. Then after being left alone with Big Jim McKay The Tramp boils one of his shoes for he and his fellow prospector can have something in them in order to stop the hunger.

What number card does The Tramp draw in the shack and what's the significance of his draw?
The Tramp/The Lone Prospector draws a three from the deck of cards. The significance is due to the fact that the low draw has to brave the winter storm in order to find food for the three men to eat. Fortunately for him, Black Larsen draws a two as The Tramp is preparing to walk out of the door. This means he gets to stay inside and Larsen must face the cold.

Why is Big Jim McKay so excited to see The Lone Prospector again?
Big Jim had found a major vein of gold on the mountain, but after the storm he wasn't able to find how to get back to it. When he sees The Lone Prospector again, he jumps for joy because he will be able to lead him to the shack where they met and from there Big Jim will be able to find the gold, which he does and makes The Lone Prospector a millionaire along with him.
