Structure:
Reading a play is very different from reading a novel. In a play, when we read rather than watch, all we know about the characters' thoughts and feelings is what they say and what we can infer from what they say. If they don't share their thoughts with another person through dialogue, we don't know those thoughts. We have to infer why characters made the choices they made, but we don't necessarily know how they feel.
