How is Starling portrayed?
Starling was a civil rights activist who travelled to Harlem during the peak of the movement to protest against the mistreatment of his fellow people. He permanently moved back to the South in order to continue with his work. he is shown to be a highly intelligent man, who sought to improve the lives of all black people even though he was fortunate enough to not be in their position. -

What happened to Foster?
Foster was a young African American man who left the South in the hopes of making a better life for himself. He travelled to California where he was able to pursue his education in medicine. He was able to work under the famed physician, Ray Charles, and eventually opened up his own practice. He then went on to lead a rich career and life and was known to throw lavish parties at his grand house.
