What are The White Helmets?
Also known as The Syrian Defense Force, the White Helmets are a group of 3,000 civilians working across Syria to save the wounded victims -- especially women and children -- of the civil war which has ravaged the country for many years. And as their name suggests, they wear white helmets while saving those civilians.

Where do the White Helmets operate?
The White Helmets operate in areas of Syria that are not controlled by the Bashar Al-Assad government. In other words, they operate in areas in which people need them -- areas engulfed in ferocious fighting between rebels and Al-Assad's government. Areas in which war crimes and collapsed buildings are as common clouds in the sky.

Why do the White Helmets do what they do?
Quite simply, the White Helmets do what they do not because of their own egos, but because they are compassionate people who are incredibly upset that the country they know and love has fallen into a bloody, awful civil war. They want to prevent as many deaths and as much pain and suffering as possible, which is why they selflessly go out and help the people who are victims of Al-Assad's horrible government.
