Make a case for the arts

Objective:

Students will be able to define culture and argue in favor of the arts.

Structure:

To begin the activity, write the following question on the board: what is culture? Then, organize students into pairs. Instruct them to use drawing software, like Sketchbook, to draw the word “Culture” in the center of the screen and then draw or write images and words related to the word culture around it—creating a kind of word/image cloud.
