Family
Family is an important theme in VenCo: A Novel. At the start of the novel, readers see Lucky St. James and her grandmother living in a Toronto apartment together. They fight but love each other dearly. Nothing but death will tear the two apart; they will always support each other for as long as they can. Together with her grandmother, Lucy and her grandmother go on a road trip together. They do so to support each other and so that they could finally confront VenCo once and for all. At the end of the day, that is what families do: they work together to accomplish something together.
Evil
In many ways, VenCo is the embodiment of evil. VenCo was created and funded by particularly bad people who had quite a bit of dark money. VenCo, in fact, is an anagram for coven. As such, the witches of the world band together and operate under the VenCo banner. And together, the witches of VenCo work together to bring themselves (and women more generally) back into power. There are also other evil people and groups throughout VenCo: A Novel, including Jay Christos, who is a dangerous and particularly effective witch hunter bent on the destruction of witches.
The supernatural
The supernatural play an important part in VenCo: A Novel. The witches which operate under the VenCo are supernatural beings with unusual power. There are also other supernatural elements, including supernatural elements within Lucky's apartment (the talking spoon). The supernatural is what sets the events in the novel into motion; it is also the novel's main antagonist.
