Bartholomew and the Oobleck Characters

Bartholomew and the Oobleck Character List

Bartholomew Cubbins

Bartholomew is the main protagonist of the story. He is introduced as King Derwin’s page boy and no one of much significance. However, he is shown to be a brave and wise boy, when he saves the kingdom by convincing the King to apologize.

King Derwin

King Derwin rules over the Kingdom of Didd. He is portrayed as a very power-hungry, yet foolish, King. He is obsessed with commanding even the skies, which leads him to order the magicians to make a new weather called oobleck.

Magicians

Though the magicians are shown to be pawns of King Derwin's, they too are quite foolish. They truly believe that a new weather is a good idea and go to lengths to support King Derwin's decisions. Ultimately, they are rather useless when it comes to actually getting rid of oobleck.
