Is Straker right or wrong about Ann's attraction? How do you know?

Students have doubtless noticed the way that Shaw is building up tension between Ann and Tanner, both in Act I and here. Ann clearly feels attraction and connection to Tanner, and her dishonest use of Rhoda might well have been a move intended to get her rather than her sister into Tanner's car. Many students will probably conclude that Straker is correct, although Ann shows affection to Octavius—she is not as obedient as she seems, and would not have been likely to turn down his proposal only out of deference to authority.
