Structure:

To begin this activity, have students watch Tsitsi Dangarembga’s TED Talk on the importance of the creative economy. (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i_eDYfKWptw) Then, lead the class through a short discussion using some or all of the following questions:

· What does Dangarembga mean by a creative economy?

· What is Dangarembga’s argument?

· How does Nervous Conditions fit into her argument?

· What is the importance of art, in your opinion?
