November 9 Symbols, Allegory and Motifs

The symbolism of judgment and imperfection

The scars on Fallon's skin symbolize judgment and imperfection. When Fallon meets her father to discuss her decision to travel to New York to pursue her acting career, he disagrees with her decision by telling her that her skin is full of scars. According to Fallon's father, Mr. O'Neil, she is no longer beautiful to perform any acting role. According to the father, acting is for beautiful women with flawless skin.

The symbol of insecurity

The dress that Ben selects for Fallon to wear symbolizes her insecurities. The dress exposes Fallon's scars, and she feels uncomfortable wearing it. Ben says the dress is short and can make Fallon look sexy during their dinner party. However, Fallon declines to wear the dress because it will expose her scars. The symbol is important because it shows that Fallon has not accepted her new identity, and Ben is doing everything possible to make her feel comfortable with her scars.

The club

The club symbolizes the reunion between Fallon and Ben. In the previous year, Fallon discovered that Ben and his sister-in-law are a couple, and they broke up. A year later, Fallon goes to the club with her new boyfriend, and Ben tracks them down. When Ben appears, Fallon feels a new spark in her blood and instantly desires to have Ben back. Ben confesses that he broke up with Jordyn. Fallon forgives Ben, and they again reunite and start their relationship afresh.
