Favel Parrett is an author based in Victoria, Australia.
After debuting with the critically acclaimed novel Past the Shallows in 2011, Parrett was shortlisted for the Miles Franklin Award. She won the Dobbie Literary Award and the ABIA Newcomer of the Year Award in 2012. Parrett has since published When the Night Comes (2014) and There Was Still Love (2019), which won the 2020 Indie Book Awards Book of the Year and Fiction Book of the Year.
In her personal life, Parrett enjoys surfing the Tasmanian coast, a theme that arises in her fiction.
