Objective:

Students will write imitations of Yeats's poems to better understand his poetic choices and thematic concerns.

Structure:

This is Part Three of a multi-day activity. Over the course of the week, students will choose one poem from each day's assignment to imitate in a pastiche.

Today, students will focus on myth. Ask students to brainstorm myths that they are familiar with and find interesting. Instruct them to write their pastiche on the topic of one of these myths.
