Yeats's poetry can be compared to the works of other Modernist poets, such as Ezra Pound and T.S. Eliot, and to other writers of the Irish Revival, including Lady Gregory and Edward Martyn. Yeats was influenced by Spenser and Shelley, as well as by traditional Irish myths and folklore.
