The activities contained in this lesson plan use a number of appropriate technologies – blogs, Twitter, and Pinterest. Day 5's Margot's Diary lesson teaches students about writing in a blogging context, while both Day One activities ask students to think about and use different forms of social media to inform their research. Anne Frank's story is an opportunity to talk about blogs and Twitter with students and have them think about the interplay of public and private in their writing — and about the people who don't have the luxury of expressing themselves publicly due to oppression.
