Teaching Anne Frank's story is a unique experience, because it's one of the few times students will read something actually penned by someone near to their age. While reading, encourage students to put themselves in Anne's shoes -- and to write for themselves, for which the classroom activities will give many opportunities. This process will help students to understand Anne's story and help them to express themselves as writers and readers.
