Objective:

Students will research other major events in the late 1950s to gain an understanding of the historical context of the memoir

Structure:

This activity will help the students to better understand the coinciding global events discussed in the novel, using a range of media and technological tools. The students will be assigned different headlining news stories from the time and will prepare a short group presentation about their topic.
