Warriors Don't Cry is Melba Pattillo Beals' memoir about her experiences as part of the Little Rock Nine. Melba uses diary entries, notes from her mother, old newspaper clippings, and her memories to explain what happened to her and the eight other Black students who fought to integrate Little Rock Central High School in 1957. Published to positive reviews in 1994, the memoir was the runner-up for the Robert F. Kennedy Book Award and was also named the American Library Association (ALA)...
